Gold Coast White Card Course Information

• What is the ID that I need?

  in QLD you must present 3 forms of ID. One must be a photo ID. The ID can be from Australia or NZ.

  If you are on a visa, you can use your overseas ID but one of the 3 items used must be your visa. 

  That’s the Simple way to understand the ID requirements. Everyone need three things. To see the official ID requirements you can read below.

  Identification Requirements for White Card in Queensland

  1 – If you are in Australia on a Visa. You can use your Visa, Passport and one other ID document from your home country

  2 – If you are a student in High school you can use your School ID and one document from the category A or B below

  3 – If you do not fall into either category above you must follow the standard ID requirements that are listed below

  ID Requirements (essential that is is in original format and not photos): RTO must sight, three matching, original, evidence of identity (EOI) documents before undertaking GCIT. Please see the list of acceptable documents below. Please note that it is essential for your ID to be original and from Australia (your passport can be foreign).

  The EOI documents must comprise either: • One (1) Category A document and two (2) Category B documents, or • Two (2) Category A documents and one (1) Category B document. 

  At least one Category A document must be photographic and show the person’s full name. 

  At least one Category A or B document must show the person’s date of birth and signature. 

  Category B documents must be Australian-issued documents.  

  Category A documents Status 

  • Australian Birth / Bicentennial Birth Certificate (born in 1988) – full (not Extract or Commemorative Certificate) 

  • Australian Citizenship Certificate / Naturalisation Certificate 

  • Department of Home Affairs (DHA) – Certificate of Evidence of Resident Status – Visa Evidence Card (with PLO56 Visa) 

  • Queensland or Federal police officer photo identity card. Current 

  • Australian passport 

  • Australian Certificate of Identity, Document of Identity, Titre de Voyage, Document de Voyage 

  • Foreign passport 

  • Australian photo driver licence 

  • Queensland Government issued photographic high risk work licence 

  • Queensland Accreditation / Authorisation: driver/rider trainer; pilot/escort vehicle driver; dangerous goods driver; tow truck driver/assistant; traffic controller; passenger transport driver (bus, taxi, limousine). Current or expired less than two years 

  • DHA – ImmiCard; Temporary or Resident Visa; Document for travel to Australia. Note: Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is not accepted. Valid up to five years after issue • Queensland Card 18+ (laminated). Issued after 01/01/1992 

  Category B documents – must be Australian issued documents Status 

  • Australian Defence Force photo identity card (excluding civilians) 

  • Australian Firearm Licence (with photo) 

  • Australian Security Guard/Crowd Controller Licence (with photo) 

  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs/Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card (including Healthcare card) 

  • Education institution student identity document (must include photo and/or signature) 

  • Financial institution debit/credit card (must include signature and embossed/printed name) 

  • Medicare card; Department of Human Services BasicsCard 

  • Interstate government-issued or government-approved photo identity card. Current

• What do I need to bring with me on training day?

  Bringing the correct ID is essential. It’s one of the most important requirements on the day.

  Please review our ID Requirements section before attending to ensure you have the right documents.

  If you didn’t supply your USI (Unique Student Identifier) at enrolment, you’ll also need to bring that with you.

  Other than that, just bring yourself and a positive attitude.

  You’re not required to wear or bring any construction gear or PPE — standard, comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes are fine.

  All necessary equipment and materials will be provided at the venue.

  You’ll be fully prepared to complete your course and walk away with your official White Card immediately after you have finished.

• How do I find the Gold Coast venue?

  The Venue is easy to find.

  We are at the H20 Building in Southport.

  If you go to 15 Welch St, Southport you will clearly see signage with our logos.

  We are a shop front on ground floor facing the street.

  We are between the computer shop and the lawyers.

• Parking & Transport?

  There is paid street parking available on Welch Street for $7.90 for the entire day.

  If you find that parking is unavailable on Welch Street, simply loop around the block, as the same parking conditions apply throughout the surrounding area.

  PUBLIC TRANSPORT

  For those using public transport, our venue is conveniently located just a short 9-minute walk from both Southport Station and Southport South Station.

  We are situated between the two stations, making either one equally accessible.

• Do you have after hours courses or other course dates?

  If you’re after an evening or after-hours course, we run these sessions at our Brisbane City CBD location.

  We also offer White Card courses at 8 convenient locations across Brisbane and South East Queensland.

• Can I get RPL for this course?

  We do not offer RPL for any white card courses in Australia due to state regulations. You must attend the white card course to get a white card.

   

• Language, Literacy and Numeracy Requirements

  To successfully complete the White Card course (CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry), all students must have a basic level of English language, literacy and numeracy. This ensures you can understand safety information and participate safely in the training.

  You must be able to:

  • Read and understand simple safety signs, instructions, and short texts
  • Write basic information, such as completing forms and short written answers
  • Communicate clearly in English with the trainer and other participants
  • Follow verbal instructions during activities and assessments
  • Understand simple numeracy, such as reading times, basic measurements, or quantities related to safety

   

  You must have a level of English that allows you to fully participate in the course. If you are unsure, please contact us and we can help assess whether this course is suitable for you.
