• What ID do I need to bring with me?

  If you are doing the White Card in Sydney, you are required to provide 100 points of ID. All documents must be original and issued in Australia. (Your passport may be from overseas.) Digital licences (e.g. Service NSW app) are accepted. If you are new to the country (been here less than 6 weeks) or a high school student, please scroll down as you are exempt from the 100 points

  ImmiCards CAN NOT be used unless they are approved by SafeWork NSW directly. Please email us 48 hours in advance of your course if you seek approval to use an ImmiCard.

   

  Note: You must include at least one photo ID (e.g. passport, driver’s licence, photo card) your address and signature across the IDs used.

   

  Who’s Exempt from 100-Point ID?

  You do not need to present 100 points of ID if you fall into any of these categories:

  • New arrivals (in Australia for less than six weeks)

  • Current high school students

  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander

  Exemptions in Detail

  1. New Arrivals (Less Than 6 Weeks)

  Bring:

  • Passport or visa

  • Bank card or driver’s licence from your home country

  2. Current High School Students

  Bring either:

  • Your school ID

  • One of: driver’s licence, birth certificate, passport, or citizenship certificate with evidence you are in school. You must show the trainer you are still enrolled. This could be by logging in to your school portal. If you are unable to provide evidence you are in school, you need to provide 100 points.

  3. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Applicants

  If you lack sufficient ID, provide two official references from recognised agencies.

• What do I need to bring with me on training day?

  Bringing the correct ID is essential. It’s one of the most important requirements on the day.

  Please review our ID Requirements section above before attending to ensure you have the right documents.

  If you didn’t supply your USI (Unique Student Identifier) at enrolment, you’ll also need to bring that with you.

  Other than that, just bring yourself and a positive attitude.

  You’re not required to wear or bring any construction gear or PPE. Standard, comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes are fine.

  All necessary equipment and materials will be provided at the venue.

  You’ll be fully prepared to complete your course and walk away with your official White Card in Sydney immediately after you have finished.

• How do I find the Sydney CBD venue?

  Our Sydney CBD White Card training venue is very easy to find. We are only a 5 minute walk from Central Station or an 8 minute walk from Town Hall Station.

   

  We are in the Manning Building. You will see Subway, to the left of Subway is the entrance to our building. Go to the lifts and go to level 6, upon exiting the lifts area turn left and we are at the end of the hallway.

• Parking & Transport?

  We highly recommend taking the train, as the venue is just a short 5 minute walk from Central or 8 Minute walk from town hall.

  It’s the fastest and most convenient option.

  If you choose to drive, please note that parking in the city is very difficult and expensive. We highly recommend doing your research before doing in.

• Do you have after hours courses or other course dates?

  Yes, we do offer evening sessions for our National White Card courses Sydney.

  If you’re after an evening or after-hours course, we run these sessions at our Sydney City CBD location.

  We also offer White Card courses at 12 convenient locations across Sydney and regional NSW.

• Is this White Card course recognised everywhere in Australia?

  Yes. The White Card (CPCWHS1001) is a nationally recognised qualification, so once you’re certified in Sydney you can work on construction sites in any state or territory in Australia.

  You don’t need to redo the course if you move interstate or take a job outside NSW. It’s the same qualification, just issued through SafeWork NSW. Keep in mind some states have their own site induction rules on top of the White Card, so always check what a specific job site asks for before you start.

• When will I get my White Card?

  You’ll get your Statement of Attainment straight after you pass the assessment on the day, so you can start working on site right away, no waiting on the physical card first.

  Your actual White Card gets mailed out to you by SafeWork NSW, and that takes 2 to 4 weeks to arrive once your details are processed.

• Do I need prior experience?

  No, you don’t need any prior experience or qualifications to do the White Card course. It’s designed as an entry point into construction work, so we start from scratch and cover everything you need to know on the day.

  You don’t need to know anything about the industry beforehand. Just make sure your English is good enough to follow instructions and complete the written assessment, and you’re all set.

• Can international students and visa holders book this White Card course?

  Yes, anyone can book, it doesn’t matter what your visa status is. Citizens, permanent residents, international students, working holiday visa holders and new migrants can all enrol.

  You’ll need a USI (Unique Student Identifier), which is free and takes about 5 minutes to get at usi.gov.au if you don’t already have one.

• Can I cancel my booking?

  Yes. You can move or cancel your booking any time and get a full refund, no questions asked. We know plans change, so there’s no penalty and no need to explain why.

  Just let us know before your course date and we’ll sort it out. If you’d rather switch to a different date or location instead of cancelling altogether, that’s fine too, just reach out and we’ll get you rebooked.

• Can I get RPL for this course?

  We do not offer RPL for any white card courses in Australia due to state regulations. You must attend the white card course to get a white card.

   

• Language, Literacy and Numeracy Requirements

  You don’t need to be fluent in English to do this White Card course in Sydney. A basic level is fine as long as you can follow along, understand safety instructions, and communicate with your trainer.

  That means being able to read simple signs and short texts, write basic answers on forms, and follow verbal instructions during the session. A bit of basic numeracy helps too, like reading times or simple measurements.

  If English is your second language, that’s completely fine. Just make sure you’re comfortable enough to participate and take in the safety content.
