• What is a White Card and do you need one?

  A White Card is a certification showing that you’ve completed health and safety training for Australian construction sites.

  You need a White Card if you plan to work on a construction site, and it’s required for all workers, apprentices, supervisors, or if you look for work with a work holiday visa.

• What is the ID that I need?

  Our White Card training Melbourne is simple when it comes to ID. All you need to bring is one form of official photo ID. This can include 

  • Australian drivers license
  • proof of age card
  • passport (Australian or international)
  • ImmiCard

• What are the risks for not bringing a valid ID?

  At National White Card Courses, we legally must verify your ID and work rights before issuing you a certificate or your Statement of Attainment.

  You will not be able to complete the White Card course if you don’t have the correct ID.

• What do I need to bring with me on training day?

  Bringing the correct ID is essential. It’s one of the most important requirements on the day. Please review our ID Requirements section before attending to ensure you have the right documents.

  If you didn’t supply your USI (Unique Student Identifier) at enrolment, you’ll also need to bring that with you.

  You’re not required to wear or bring any construction gear or PPE. Standard, comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes are fine.

  All necessary equipment and materials will be provided at the venue. You’ll be fully prepared to complete your course and walk away with your official White Card immediately after you have finished.

• How do I find the Melbourne venue?

  Our office is conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from Flinders Street Station. The building entrance can be found on Swanston Street, immediately to the right of Krispy Kreme Donuts

• Parking & Transport?

  Its highly advised you get the train to the venue as we are only 100m from Flinders St Station. Should you decide to drive, consider early bird parking options.

  Some providers offer rates ranging from $20 to $30, but bookings must typically be made in advance, and strict timing conditions usually apply. Due to the frequent changes in pricing and policies, we are unable to provide specific parking recommendations.

  As we write this Wilson St parking on Flinders Lane has drive in parking for a fixed rate of $30. This car park is only 50m from the venue.

• How do I book a White Card Course in Melbourne?

  Its Simple.

  • Choose your location.
  • Pick a date that suits you.
  • Click Enrol.
  • Fill in your details and complete payment.

  Once you’re done, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your course date, venue, and everything you need to know for the day.

  Show up on the day with your ID and complete your course.

  Before you start, make sure you have your USI (Unique Student Identifier) ready.

  Need a USI? Go to usi.gov.au and click “Get a USI”.

  Can’t remember it? Use the “Find my USI“ tool on the same site.

  They are easy to get, it only takes a few minutes. Once you get one its yours for life and you don’t need to get one again.

• How long does it take to receive a White Card?

  After completing the course and the final assessment, we will issue a Statement of Attainment to you on the same day. You can use that certificate for applying to jobs and get hired.

  You will then receive your physical White Card from WorkSafe Victoria by mail in the following weeks.

• Can you join a White Card training online in Melbourne?

  Online White Card training are not accepted in Melbourne and Victoria. All White Card courses must be face-to-face at a National White Card Courses training centre.

  Please note that you must live in Victoria in order to join a session in Melbourne.

• Do White Cards Melbourne expire?

  White Cards do not expire. However, if you haven’t been working on construction sites for over 2 years, you will need to join a White Card training again.

• Can I get RPL for this course?

  We do not offer RPL for any white card courses in Australia due to state regulations. You must attend the white card course to get a white card.

   

• Language, Literacy and Numeracy Requirements

  You don’t need to be fluent in English to do this White Card course in Melbourne. A basic level is fine as long as you can follow along, understand safety instructions, and communicate with your trainer.

  That means being able to read simple signs and short texts, write basic answers on forms, and follow verbal instructions during the session. A bit of basic numeracy helps too, like reading times or simple measurements.

  If English is your second language, that’s completely fine. Just make sure you’re comfortable enough to participate and take in the safety content.
