Sydney White Card Course Information

• What is the 100 points of ID I need to bring with me?

  If you are doing the White Card in Sydney, you are required to provide 100 points of ID. All documents must be original and issued in Australia. (Your passport may be from overseas.) Digital licences (e.g. Service NSW app) are accepted. If you are new to the country (been here less than 6 weeks) or a high school student, please scroll down as you are exempt from the 100 points

  ImmiCards CAN NOT be used unless they are approved by Safework NSW directly. Please email us 48 hours in advance of your course if you seek approval to use an ImmiCard.

   

  Note: You must include at least one photo ID (e.g. passport, driver’s licence, photo card) your address, signature and address across the IDs used.

   

  Who’s Exempt from 100-Point ID?

  You do not need to present 100 points of ID if you fall into any of these categories:

  • New arrivals (in Australia for less than six weeks)

  • Current high school students

  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander

  Exemptions in Detail

  1. New Arrivals (Less Than 6 Weeks)

  Bring:

  • Passport or visa

  • Bank card or driver’s licence from your home country

  2. Current High School Students

  Bring either:

  • Your school ID

  • One of: driver’s licence, birth certificate, passport, or citizenship certificate with evidence you are in school. You must show the trainer you are still enrolled. This could be by logging in to your school portal. If you are unable to provide evidence you are in school, you need to provide 100 points.

  3. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Applicants

  If you lack sufficient ID, provide two official references from recognised agencies.

• What do I need to bring with me on training day?

  Bringing the correct ID is essential. It’s one of the most important requirements on the day.

  Please review our ID Requirements section above before attending to ensure you have the right documents.

  If you didn’t supply your USI (Unique Student Identifier) at enrollment, you’ll also need to bring that with you.

  Other than that, just bring yourself and a positive attitude.

  You’re not required to wear or bring any construction gear or PPE. Standard, comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes are fine.

  All necessary equipment and materials will be provided at the venue.

  You’ll be fully prepared to complete your course and walk away with your official White Card in Sydney immediately after you have finished.

• How do I find the Sydney CBD venue?

  Our Sydney CBD White Card training venue is very easy to find. We are only a 2 minute walk from Central Station or an 8 minute walk from Town Hall Station.

   

  We are in the Manning Building. You will see Subway, to the left of Subway is the entrance to our building. Go to the lifts and go to level 6, upon exiting the lifts area turn left and we are at the end of the hallway.

• Parking & Transport?

  We highly recommend taking the train, as the venue is just a short 2 minute walk from Central or 8 Minute walk from town hall.

  It’s the fastest and most convenient option.

  If you choose to drive, please note that parking in the city is very difficult and expensive. We highly recommend doing your research before doing in.

• Do you have after hours courses or other course dates?

  Yes, we do offer evening sessions for our National White Card courses Sydney.

  If you’re after an evening or after-hours course, we run these sessions at our Sydney City CBD location.

  We also offer White Card courses at 12 convenient locations across Sydney and regional NSW.

• Can I get RPL for this course?

  We do not offer RPL for any white card courses in Australia due to state regulations. You must attend the white card course to get a white card.

   

• Language, Literacy and Numeracy Requirements

  To successfully complete the White Card course in Sydney (CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry), all students must have a basic level of English language, literacy and numeracy. This ensures you can understand safety information and participate safely in the training.

  You must be able to:

  • Read and understand simple safety signs, instructions, and short texts
  • Write basic information, such as completing forms and short written answers
  • Communicate clearly in English with the trainer and other participants
  • Follow verbal instructions during activities and assessments
  • Understand simple numeracy, such as reading times, basic measurements, or quantities related to safety

   

  If English is your second language, you must have a level of English that allows you to fully participate in the course. If you are unsure, please contact us and we can help assess whether this course is suitable for you.
