Online White Card Course Information

• What is the 100 points of ID that I need?

  In NSW, you are required to provide 100 points of ID. All documents must be original and issued in Australia. (Your passport may be from overseas.) Digital licences (e.g. Service NSW app) are accepted. If you are new to the country (been here less than 6 weeks) or a high school student, please scroll down as you are exempt from the 100 points

  ImmiCards CAN NOT be used unless they are approved by Safework NSW directly. Please email us 48 hours in advance of your course if you seek approval to use an ImmiCard.

   

  Note: You must include at least one photo ID (e.g. passport, driver’s licence, photo card) your address, signature and address across the IDs used.

   

  Who’s Exempt from 100-Point ID?

  You do not need to present 100 points of ID if you fall into any of these categories:

  • New arrivals (in Australia for less than six weeks)

  • Current high school students

  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander

  Exemptions in Detail

  1. New Arrivals (Less Than 6 Weeks)

  Bring:

  • Passport or visa

  • Bank card or driver’s licence from your home country

  2. Current High School Students

  Bring either:

  • Your school ID

  • One of: driver’s licence, birth certificate, passport, or citizenship certificate with evidence you are in school. You must show the trainer you are still enrolled. This could be by logging in to your school portal. If you are unable to provide evidence you are in school, you need to provide 100 points.

  3. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Applicants

  If you lack sufficient ID, provide two official references from recognised agencies.

• What do I need to bring with me on training day?

  The correct ID is one of the most important requirements on the day.

  Please review our ID Requirements section before attending to ensure you have the right documents.

  If you didn’t supply your USI (Unique Student Identifier) at enrolment, you’ll also need to have that with you.

  You’ll need a stable internet connection, a laptop with a working camera and microphone.

  You’ll also need to have your own PPE ready to demonstrate over Zoom: Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, High-Vis Vest, and Hearing Protection.

• How is the online White Card course delivered?

  The course is delivered live via Zoom. Once you book, you’ll receive an email with your Zoom link, instructions, and everything you need to know to get set up.

• is the NSW White Card course 100% online?

  Yes. The online White Card course is 100% online. As long as you’re located in NSW and meet the ID and PPE requirements, you can complete it from home.

• How do I book an Online White Card Course in NSW?

  Booking is quick and easy.

  Before you start, make sure you have your USI (Unique Student Identifier) ready.

  • Need a USI? Go to usi.gov.au and click “Get a USI”.

  • Can’t remember it? Use the “Find my USI“ tool on the same site.

   

  How to Book

  1. Choose your preferred date.

  2. Pick a time that suits you.

  3. Click Enrol.

  4. Fill in your details and complete payment.

  Once you’re done, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your course date and everything you need to know for the day.

• Do you also offer in-person sessions at training venues in NSW?

  Yes, we also offer courses at 14 convenient locations across Sydney and regional NSW.

• Can I get RPL for this course?

  We do not offer RPL for any white card courses in Australia due to state regulations. You must attend the white card course to get a white card.

   

• Language, Literacy and Numeracy Requirements

  To successfully complete the White Card course (CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry), all students must have a basic level of English language, literacy and numeracy. This ensures you can understand safety information and participate safely in the training.

  You must be able to:

  • Read and understand simple safety signs, instructions, and short texts
  • Write basic information, such as completing forms and short written answers
  • Communicate clearly in English with the trainer and other participants
  • Follow verbal instructions during activities and assessments
  • Understand simple numeracy, such as reading times, basic measurements, or quantities related to safety

   

  If English is your second language, you must have a level of English that allows you to fully participate in the course. If you are unsure, please contact us and we can help assess whether this course is suitable for you.
